This is for Churches and whoever finds it useful, I have experience with the Curtis G3 models and I think the checks the box for the budget as well as performance, Webstaurant Store might be one of the better prices for a unit that comes with 2 servers as kit, one thing that will limit the quality will be water (also hard water can leave deposits on solenoid seals and cause them to leak) and Grinder quality, if you try to use a home grinder you likely heat the grounds up and if its a cheap one the fines will probably cause a burnt taste to otherwise properly roasted coffee, unfortunately commercial grinders are not cheap, you can look for a used one (I found Malhkonig Guatemala for around $900 on Ebay and took the chance) it turned out to be a good unit, I was expecting the burrs to be junk but brewed pour overs on the Next Level for a number of times to test them, I also would refer to youtube to set the pulse brew settings, you will probably have limited results without them
Batch Size and Ratios Recommendations (Keep in mind if you brew to
strong of coffee for a big crowd you may end with more complaints then weaker coffee)
1/2 Gal 100g to 110g this is a higher ratio then the bigger batch which is what you may need unless you have a wire insert for your basket to use a smaller filter
1 Gal 190g to 200g
1.5 Gal 270g to 300g I have had good luck with the lower end on this range
